Saturday the 27th of April 2024 saw the exclusive preview and curated walkthrough of a one-of-a-kind exhibition at the Foundation’s new premises at Lavelle Road.
Noted speaker, historian and author, Dr. Manu S Pillai, took to stage and shared stories associated with the spectacular photos on display, graciously lent to the foundation and are from the personal collection of the royal family.
The exhibition, titled “Daughter of Providence” also houses an original oil painting of the last Maharani of Travancore, Maharani Sethu Lakshmi Bayi, as a three-year-old, by Raja Ravi Varma. The exhibition, based on the life and times of the Maharani, who was Raja Ravi Varma’s granddaughter, also has a life-size portrait of the Maharani by our chairperson, Rukmini Varma, and a few other oil paintings by Raja Ravi Varma’s son, Rama Varma.
The exhibition is open to public from April 29th - May 30th, 2024 at the mezzanine floor at Maini Sadan.
